CRIME VICTIM was slow into stride. SOLID SPEED and AKII BUA (AUS) were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SOLID SPEED shifted in near the 1900 metre mark, resulting in GONE BABY GONE becoming cramped and having to be eased. Jockey Dillon, the rider of SOLID SPEED, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground in races in future. Jockey Cormack reported that CURRENT EVENT took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with KOLKATA in the final straight and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the latter stages. In view of the performance of BEEWITHMEE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey de Melo reported JAY POWER making an abnormal respiratory noise. The change of Ownership of GREAT RUMPUS should read: Messrs Steven Chetty, C F Thompson, A E Volsum & A C H Volsum; and the Colours are: red and light grey checked diamonds, red sleeves and cap.
