TANABURS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Lafferty was questioned regarding the improved performance of TANABURS the winner compared to this gelding's previous runs. Mr Lafferty stated that TANABURS had shown improvement over the longer distance of 2000 metres in his previous start and that this gelding was further suited to the longer distance of today's race. Mr Lafferty has undertaken to race this gelding over similar distances in future. In view of the performance of SECRET LOVER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. LE CHAT D'AMOUR was hanging out in the latter stages. Vet: SECRET LOVER - not striding out right fore. Scratched: NEWTONS SPARK - examined at the start and found to be lame left fore and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
