MAGICONTHEMOON was slow, losing one length. In view of the performance from ISLAND RULE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. In view of the performance from COSSACK PATROL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that ROMAN SILVANUS did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Behr reported that ZANUBIO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. ZANUBIO was forced to check shortly after the start when severely cramped for galloping room on the inside of BLACK AGATE, which was carried inwards by STRICTLY BUSINESS, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. HURRICANE ATTACK which was following was forced to ease for a number of strides. Jockey Ashby, the rider of STRICTLY BUSINESS, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to runners on his inside shortly after the start. Jockey Ashby signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. THREE BALLOONS raced wide on the bend without cover and raced forward approaching the straight and Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of THREE BALLOONS, elected to make his run down the outside running rail. ICE STYLE pulled hard in the early stages and was difficult to restrain. BONO VOX was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. HURRICANE ATTACK and ZANUBIO raced fitted with a tongue tie. COSSACK PATROL raced unshod. Vet: ROMAN SILVANUS - returned not striding out behind. STRICTLY BUSINESS - returned cut into on the left hind. ZANUBIO - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. ISLAND RULE - was inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. COSSACK PATROL - returned not striding out.
