TOP OF THE ROCK, AMADEUS ROCKS (AUS) and BENJAN were slow, losing one length. GLIDER was eased out of the race at about the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. BENJAN was hanging out in the latter stages. VERY CLEVER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Africa rode DREAMFOREST. The Club's Medical Officer stood down Jockey Winnaar for the remainder of the day on medical grounds. Vet: GLIDER - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: JUST A JAG - elevated temperature, and not eating up. SALINGER - not eating up. ROYAL ACE - Stipendiary Stewards permission. Trainer Puller reported his grooms had gone on strike, and he was unable to get this horse to the float timeously. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
