SOCIETI kicked the back gates getting her leg caught as the start was effected, losing 3 lengths. NATIONAL KING and BURRWOOD were both into stride. AWARE selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The start of the 8th Race was reviewed by the Stipendiary Board with regard to SOCIETI and were satisfied that this filly was not impeded by a Handler or a faulty mechanism and declared SOCIETI a runner. AWARE, KING JAY and STAMPEDE were pulling hard in the early stages, difficult to restrain. SOCIETI over-raced in the early stages and cramped for galloping room for a number of strides at approximately the 800 metre mark. Jockey Yeni reported that SOCIETI were coughing post race. STAMPEDE raced unshod. STAMPEDE raced with his tongue tied down. Vet: SOCIETI - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: KINGS GOLD - elevated temperature. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
