The start of this Race was delayed due AMANGA dislodging Jockey Dillon on route to the start. This resulted in AMANGA being withdrawal for delaying the start as there was no suitable rider readily available. CHASING THE SUN, DEPARTURE FLIGHT and NEWTONS SPARK were slow into stride. BIRKINS BEST lost one length. FUSSY BALL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the performances of COUNTERMOVE, CHASING THE SUN and DEPARTURE FLIGHT, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Jockey de Melo, the rider of GATTO NERO, and Apprentice Mxothwa, the rider of HANDSOME HARVEY, reported their respective mounts took no interest in running. Vet: COUNTERMOVE - not striding out left fore. CHASING THE SUN, GATTO NERO and HANDSOME HARVEY - nothing obvious detected. DEPARTURE FLIGHT - not striding out right fore. BRATISLAVA - mouth injury. Scratched: PAR HASARD - lame right fore. AMANGA - withdrawn for delaying the start. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
