NINA KATRINA was restless in the stalls and lost 2 lengths. KILLER WOMAN (NZ) lost 1 length. MIRACLE RISING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. KILLER WOMAN (NZ) improved his position between runners shortly after the start, resulting in KILLER WOMAN (NZ) making contact with SCENTED GIFT. This resulted in SCENTED GIFT becoming cramped on the inside running rail and was unbalanced on two occasions. Thereafter KILLER WOMAN (NZ), who was over-racing, clipped heels and stumbled at approximately the 900 metre mark. Jockey Ntuli, the rider of KILLER WOMAN (NZ), appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and advised to take stronger measures to maintain his position and restrain his mounts sufficiently in the early stages. Jockey de Melo, rider of WILD IMAGE, signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to proceed to the parade ring immediately after being so instructed by the Clerk of Scales. Jockey Lerena, rider of SWAN DANCE, signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to proceed to the parade ring immediately after being so instructed by the Clerk of Scales. Vet: CHESTNUT JEWEL - nothing obvious detected. MIRACLE RISING - cut into left hind and mild post race distress.
