CAPTAIN'S CASTLE jumped inwards, was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. BROADBAND was slow into stride. AIR VICE MARSHAL jumped awkwardly, was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. REGAL RULER eased off the heels of MAMBO SQUARE at the 1800m. COSSACK PATROL commenced to compound approaching the 500m, resulting in EXCLUSIVE KNIGHT, which was following, being held up for a number of strides. BROADBAND was forced to switch out at approximately the 400m off the heels of a tiring COSSACK PATROL. Apprentice Carstens reported that THE QUEENS COLOURS was not striding out in running. In view of the performance from COSSACK PATROL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding and submit a report. THREE BALLOONS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: AIR VICE MARSHAL - returned having lost the right hind shoe. THE QUEENS COLOURS - returned not striding out both hind. COSSACK PATROL - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: CHIEF PILOT - virus. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
