PONTEDERA shifted out approaching the 200m and bumped STONE PINE, which resulted in STONE PINE losing momentum. A Stipendiary Steward called a race review into this incident, which was followed by Jockey Herholdt, the rider of STONE PINE, placed second, lodging an objection against PONTEDERA, being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference at approximately the 200m. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the connections of both horses and reviewing the patrol films of the incident, was of the opinion that if not for the interference STONE PINE would have finished in front of PONTEDERA and therefore upheld the objection and amended the judge's result. Jockey Herholdt's deposit was refunded. An inquiry will be opened into this report. Jockey Naude reported that RUN FOR WALLY took no interest in running. Apprentice Munger reported that SAN VICENZO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. In view of the performance from ELEGANT BAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. PONTEDERA, placed second on objection, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: RUN FOR WALLY - not striding out right front. SAN VICENZO - not striding out right front; abnormal respiratory noise. ELEGANT BAY - not striding out right front; coughing. PRETTY LADY - coughing. Scratched: NEW CIRCLE - lame right front.
