The start of this race was delayed due to LA MANGA breaking through the front gate dislodging Jockey Lerena, being restrained by the Handler, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. LA MANGA broke through the front gates, restrained by the Handler and reloaded. LA MANGA was hanging in, in the straight. PRINCESS TANTAN (AUS) faltered at the 200m, thereafter Jockey Strydom did not persevere with his riding. Trainer Janse van Vuuren was requested to report back on the condition of this filly on return to stables. TELL MY STAR was hanging in from the 200m. AMBER ORCHID (AUS) and FEATHERFOOT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FEATHERFOOT was hanging in from the 200m.
