MONEY GRUBBER and PACYANO were slow into stride. PRINCIPLED was slow away and lost 1 length. SAMHAAN (AUS) was slow away and lost 3 lengths. Permission was granted for GRAND LODGE to be led to the start with a lead horse. GRAND LODGE was hanging in over the final 300 metres. PRINCIPLED was baulked for a clear run in the closing stages firstly behind GRAND LODGE and then STORMY RIDGE and Jockey Danielson did not persevere with his ride to the finish. Jockey Danielson was brought before the Board and reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out to the end of the race. SAMHAAN (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Smith was questioned regarding the improved performance of SAMHAAN (AUS) compared to this gelding's previous start on the 24/04/15. He explained that this was SAMHAAN (AUS) first run on the poly track for him where he performs best. The Board noted this explanation and his previous Durban form on the Poly track. Jockey Vlooh replaced Jockey Agrella on SWEDISH KING as he was unable to make the carded weight. Vet: KING OF INDIANS - cast left fore shoe. PRINCIPLED - checked post race, nothing obvious detected.
