GATTO NERO was restless in the stalls and hesitated as the start was effected, losing 3 lengths. ROY'S SAILOR lost 1 length. NEWTONS SPARK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Patel, the rider of NEWTONS SPARK, has now ridden his 20th winner and will claim a 2.5kg allowance from the end of today's meeting until the conclusion of the race meeting at which he has ridden his 40th winner. In view of the performances of SECRET LOVER, GATTO NERO and BRATISLAVA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings and this filly. AMANGA over-raced in the early stages. CAVIAR BAY shifted both ways from the crop in the final straight. Vet: SECRET LOVER - not striding out right hind. GATTO NERO - nothing obvious detected. BRATISLAVA - not striding out right fore. Scratched: TORO ROSSO and GO TELL - lame left fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
