STONE OF DESTINY (S Moodley), DOGMATIX (*J Gates) and ALADO'S PRIDE (C Murray) lost 1 length, respectively. RED UNION (K de Melo) raced greenly in the running. Between the 300m and the 250m, LUNAR PROSPECTOR (C Zackey) and AUGUST RED (L Hewitson) made contact on at least two occasions. Thereafter, at the 200m, LUNAR PROSPECTOR (C Zackey) and AUGUST RED (L Hewitson) were carried in by RADAMES (D Dillon) which was hanging in from the 400m. Jockey D Dillon appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised to take more care when shifting ground in future. Apprentice J Gates reported that he felt something amiss with DOGMATIX post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse JOINT EFFORT more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey G Wright, the Board considered the number of times (16) Jockey Wright struck the horse JOINT EFFORT, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey G Wright used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. JOINT EFFORT (D Dillon) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Badenhorst advised (TN). Jockey L Hewitson replaced Jockey B Fayd'herbe on AUGUST RED (advised 08h27/01/07.2020). Jockey D Dillon was the rider of RADAMES (reserve runner - advised 07h73/01.07.2020). STONE OF DESTINY raced fitted with ear-muffs (advised 11h35/30.06.2020). DOGMATIX raced fitted with blinkers (advised 19h16/30.06.2020). VET : DOGMATIX : Mild post race distress.
