The start of this Race was delayed when CAPTAIN'S DIVA reared and turned its head sideways, resulting in this filly being entrapped against the front gate. CAPTAIN'S DIVA was taken out, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. CAPTAIN'S DIVA and PRINCESS STEPHANIE were restless in the stalls. Jockey Naude reported that SEATTLE WIND was changing stride continually in running. SEATTLE WIND was awkwardly placed between USISI (AUS) and SHIVER 'N SHAKE, which was carried out by BOARDING CALL, which shifted out away from the crop at the 200m. Jockey van der Merwe reported that JEDI STAR did not stride out freely in running an inquiry will be opened to establish why LADY AL had to ease at the 800m. USISI (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ALCANINA raced equipped with a Cornell collar. Vet: ALCANINA - abnormal respiratory noise. JEDI STAR - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: NINIVAH - retired. LAVENDER GIRL - abnormal temperature. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
