JOCKEY M THACKERAY WAS DISLODGED FROM MILAN'S PRINCESS WHICH BECAME RESTLESS BREAKING THROUGH THE FRONT GATES AND BOLTING THE COURSE. MILAN'S PRINCESS WAS TAKEN IN HAND, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON AND SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE LED TO THE DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
AFRIEL (C Bantam), TRUE SANGUE (C Maujean) and THEATRE OF DREAMS (*C F Dicken) were slow losing one length.
During the loading process MILAN'S PRINCESS (M Thackeray) broke through the front gate, dislodged Jockey Thackeray and bolted. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn.
SOVEREIGNTY (D Schwarz) was squeezed out shortly after the start.
In view of the Starter's report with regard to MILAN'S PRINCESS , this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 03.07.20 to the 09.07.20. MILAN'S PRINCESS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C Spies was advised.
TRUE SANGUE (C Maujean) jumped a patch at the 400m.
LAETITIA'S ANGEL (S Khumalo) shifted in away from the crop from the 100m to the 50m. LAETITIA'S ANGEL (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Sapphire, acting on behalf of Trainer A B Fortune, advised (DR).
CAERPHILLY (R R Magner), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, advised (DR).
MILAN'S PRINCESS was ridden by Jockey M Thackeray (declared 1 July 2020 at 10H23). SOVEREIGNTY was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 2 July 2020 at 07H29). THEATRE OF DREAMS was ridden by Apprentice C F Dicken who claimed a 2,5kg allowance (declared 2 July 2020 at 08H00). MAY QUEEN raced with a tongue tie on (declared 29 June 2020 2018 at 14H42). AFRIEL raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 25 June 2020 2018 at 14H42).
VET: ARABELLA QUEEN abnormal respiratory noise.
COURSE MEDICAL OFFICER: Jockey M Thackeray was stood down by the Course Medical Officer after Race 3 (fell during the running of Race 3). He was replaced on the remainder of his mounts.
SCRATCHED: MAYWEATHER off feed (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
GYPSY WOMAN and SET AND MATCH reserve runners. Advised 2 July 2020 at 08H16. MILAN'S PRINCESS bolted the course. Immediate instatement.
