The start of this Race was delayed at the request of the Racing Operator. GREASEPAINT jumped inwards. NATIONAL KEY jumped awkwardly. FOYLE was stubborn loading. Stable Employee Mathee was advised that this gelding must be re-schooled prior to its next engagement. WHERE'S MY CHOP spread its left front shoe. NATIONAL KEY became unbalanced shortly after the start when it clipped the heels of WHERE'S MY CHOP. Apprentice Munger, the rider of CROWN OF ROSES, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of a race. When questioned regarding his ride on CROWN OF ROSES, Apprentice Munger explained to the Board that, in his opinion, this filly is better suited to the minimum trip of 1000m and therefore in today's race over 1160m he had tried to race CROWN OF ROSES as quietly as possible in the early stages to ensure that she was able to finish off the race. He also added that this filly resents the use of the crop. His explanation was noted. GREASEPAINT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
