LARIMAR jumped outwards and made contact with SILVER FINALIST, which was slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. NOORDHOEK ICE jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Neisius reported that SILVER FINALIST did not stride out freely from the 200m, and as a result did not persevere with his riding. In view of the performance from DIVINE FORTRESS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. In view of the report from the Veterinary Surgeon regarding SILVER FINALIST, Trainer Kannemeyer has been advised that he will be required to notify the Stipendiary Board when he next enters SILVER FINALIST, in order that the Stipendiary Board and a nominated Veterinary Surgeon, may pass her fit to race. Jockey Fayd'Herbe, the rider of ROCKET MASTER, was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M, in that he used his crop with excessive frequency. Jockey Fayd'Herbe signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Apprentice van den Hoven was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline G, in that he struck DIVINE FORTRESS unnecessarily when it was out of contention for a place. Apprentice van den Hoven signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. ICE STYLE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SILVER FINALIST - returned striding short on the left fore. DIVINE FORTRESS - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. ICE STYLE - returned having cast the right fore shoe in running. Scratched: CHARLIE STRONG - pharyngitis.
