ARGYLE BAY, TRENDY GUY, BURWAAZ and PEARLY KING were slow into stride. TO LIFE was restless in the stalls and jumped outwards bumping BURWAAZ and losing 1 length. DELRAY BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EMBLEM ROYALE shifted inwards approaching the 1200 metre mark and eased back in to the field resulting in ELECTROSHOCK being forced to switch out to avoid the heels of EMBLEM ROYALE carrying BURWAAZ outwards. This resulted in PEARLY KING clipping the heels of BURWAAZ, stumbling badly dislodging Jockey Kennedy. As a result TRENDY GUY was forced to switch in to avoid PEARLY KING. Thereafter ELECTROSHOCK over-raced for a short distance. Jockey Ntuli signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended for a period of 10 days for a contravention in that, as the rider of EMBLEM ROYALE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horses ELECTROSHOCK, BURWAAZ and PEARLY KING near the 1200 metre mark. DELRAY BEACH shifted inwards shortly after the start, resulting in JAY AGAIN having to ease momentarily. Jockey Mgudlwa, the rider of DELRAY BEACH, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and advised to take more care when shifting ground in races in future. NOTTINGHAM FOREST over-raced in the early stages. Jockey Kennedy was incapacitated from weighing in and the Stewards accepted that PEARLY KING had carried the correct weight. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey de Melo was stood down with influenza/bronchitis; and Jockey Kennedy was dislodged from his mount and sustained head/facial injuries and concussion. Referred to ER for further treatment. Due to change of colours, the Colours of the Owners of BURWAAZ should read: Dark blue, gold stripe, striped sleeves, dark blue collar, gold cuffs and cap. Ownership remains the same. Vet: BURWAAZ - not striding out right hind.
