JET LIGNITE (M Yeni) was stubborn to load. SUNNY BILL DU-TOY (A Marcus) lost 1 length. DARK MOON DOWN (R Fourie) was hanging out from the 300m. In view of the performance of LAND OF MYSTERY (S Veale) (distance 11.85 lengths, betting 6/1) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. In view of the performance of SUNNY BILL DU-TOY (A Marcus) (distance 7.95 lengths, betting 24/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A Wright was requested to report back on the condition of SUNNY BILL DU-TOY on return to stables. Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse TECHNO CAPTAIN more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Moodley, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey Moodley struck the horse TECHNO CAPTAIN, the distance over which and manner in which Jockey S Moodley used his crop and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1500 was imposed. Additionally, Jockey S Moodley was advised that should he appear before the Board regarding a similar contravention in the near future, a more severe sanction may be issued. BEFORE NOON (L Hewitson) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Tarry advised (ML). Jockey S Moodley replaced Jockey B Fayd'herbe on TECHNO CAPTAIN (advised 15h51/03.07.2020). JET LIGNITE raced fitted with pacifiers (advised 07h43/04.07.2020).
