GUEST OF HONOUR had to be re-saddled at the start, causing a slight delay. GUEST OF HONOUR was slow, losing two lengths. EMBLEM'S STAR, which was fractious and reared in the stalls, jumped awkwardly inwards and carried SAINT MARY (IRE) inwards. Trainer Burger will be advised that this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn. EMERAL ROSE was restless in the stalls. BELLE JULIETTE was severely cramped for galloping room approaching the 900m and was forced to ease when HOPE DOWNS rolled in away from AROMATICS, which had shifted in. DENIA TIBBS and LITETHENITE, which were following, had to ease momentarily. Apprentice van der Hoven, the rider of AROMATICS, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners at the 900m. Apprentice van der Hoven signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. HOPE DOWNS and RED HOT LADY were forced to check at about the 250m when EMERALD ROSE shifted inwards to continue her run. Jockey du Plooy, the rider of EMERAL ROSE, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners at the 250m. Jockey cu Plooy signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. GARDEN FEATURE was baulked for a clear run between the 250m and 150m. BELLE JULIETTE was tightened for galloping room leaving the 100m and was forced to ease. CHRISALDAME was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey du Plooy rode EMERAL ROSE. This change was made in due time with Stewards permission and the mutual consent of all the connections. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
