The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in Race 2. NEYA KUTANDA and SAXON LEADER were slow into stride. Jockey Simons reported that ARRIVE AT FIVE was blowing heavily post race. NORTH WESTERLY was carried in approaching the 150m by PHUKET, which was hanging in from the 400m. Apprentice Marwing was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of PHUKET, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to NORTH WESTERLY when he shifted in in the concluding stages. Apprentice Marwing signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a Warning was imposed. In the concluding stages SEEKING SEATTLE was awkwardly placed on the inside of SHE'S A FLIRT. NORTH WESTERLY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of NORTH WESTERLY, Trainer Tolmay could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. Vet: ARRIVE AT FIVE - blowing heavily post race. PHUKET - coughing. ONE SEXY LADY - abnormal respiratory noise.
