The start of the 8th Race was delayed following a request from the Racing Operator due to a national network issue/problem. WILLOW MAGIC (AUS) and ICE MACHINE both lost 1 length. ASHTON PARK stood losing 5 lengths. Assistant Trainer Fayd'Herbe advised to re-school this gelding. FUTURA and ICE MACHINE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LIGHT THE LIGHTS was pulling hard in the early and middle stages difficult to restrain and as a result raced too freely on the lead. ICE MACHINE was hanging in, in the latter stages. In view of the performance of PUNTA ARENAS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. HELDERBERG BLUE did not race fitted with cheek-pieces. Vet: PUNTA ARENAS - nothing obvious detected. LEGISLATE - not striding out right fore. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey Fourie was unfit to ride for the balance of the race meeting due to an injury left foreman. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey Neisius was unfit to ride for the balance of the race meeting as he was treated for backache.
