The start of the 9th Race was delayed following a request from the Racing Operator due to a national network issue/problem. ACROSTAR (AUS), SUPERCEDE, AMBER ORCHID (AUS) and ENCHANTED SILK were slow into stride. GALLICA ROSE and ACROSTAR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BILATERAL was steadied at approximately the 1800 metre mark off the heels of JET BELLE and thereafter switched outwards off the heels of PATCHIT UP BABY, resulting in GATHERING FAME, COUNTING ANGELS and MOHAVE PRINCESS (AUS) being forced outwards racing into the first bend. This incident to be reviewed by the Stipendiary Board. Jockey Marcus reported that JET BELLE was making an abnormal respiratory noise at the pull up. Due to the performance of AMBER ORCHID (AUS) and ENCHANTED SILK, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare and this filly. BILATERAL returned post race having cast the right fore shoe. JET BELLE raced with her tongue tied down. Vet: JET BELLE and ENCHANTED SILK - nothing obvious detected. AMBER ORCHID (AUS) - not striding out right fore.
