Jockeys Herholdt (flight complication) and Fayd'Herbe (steward's permission) did not ride at today's race meeting and they were replaced on their rides. Prior to the running of the first race concerns were raised regarding the condition of the track in the vicinity of the 2400 metre mark. A track inspection was carried out and a decision was made in consultation with the Racing Operator to change the distance of the 7th race to 2200 metres in the interest of safety. All trainers and their representatives were afforded the opportunity to withdraw their runners. COME ALONG was slow into stride. LESSFLASHMORECASH and METEOR RISING were slow away and lost 1 length each. BAY BOMBER was pulling hard in the early stages. Apprentice Thabana signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that, whilst riding UNBROKEN, he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. Apprentice Thabana appeared before of the Board in the presence of his Riding Master and was spoken to with regards to the proper use of his crop. UNBROKEN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: WOODSTOCK EXPRESS - left fore bumper injury. INQUISITION - cast right fore shoe. METEOR RISING - not striding out left hind. Scratched: PATAUDI - no transport.
