The Veterinary Surgeon reported that it was incorrectly reported that INDIAN CONNECTION was suspended for 180 days due to epistaxis. This has been amended to be a 90 day suspension. Jockey Nyawo did not ride at today's meeting due to transport complications. MASKED GIRL, GRACIOUS GRACE, PINK TICKET and RED SEDUCTRESS were slow into stride. ROYAL MAZARI lost 1 length. TIMEOUS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SIMLA jumped outwards at the start inconveniencing VENETIAN GOLD and TIMEOUS. MASKED GIRL shifted in slightly near the 500 metre mark, carrying KHONZA inwards. KHONZA and RED SEDUCTRESS raced green. SIMLA was hanging out throughout. Jockey Cormack, the rider of MASKED GIRL, was questioned with regard to his ride in this race. He stated that this filly needs to be ridden with cover and must be produced as late as possible so as to give of her best. The Board noted Mr Cormack's explanation and advised him to inform the Stewards in advance when he is going to ride horses in a manner that deviates from the norm. Jockey Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with LE MONDE and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the latter stages. Vet: MASKED GIRL - choked up. LE MONDE - not striding out right hind.
