Fair start.Jockey J Bekker, the rider of WHAT A FLIRT, felt something amiss, eased this filly out of the race and dismounted shortly after the start. The filly was attended to on the course by the veterinary surgeon. Jockey S Mbhele, the rider of MAYFERN, reported that this filly changed strides continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. SING OUT LOUD (C Orffer) pulled hard in the early stages. Leaving the 50m, FLAME TREE (G Cheyne) rolled in and brushed EVA EILEEN (M Byleveld), resulting in both fillies becoming unbalanced shortly before the finish. EVA EILEEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PP Kruyer was advised. (SC) VET: WHAT A FLIRT - lame right hind. MAYFERN - nothing obvious detected.
