TAKING CHANCES, IRE DE FIESTA and RASCALITY were all slow into stride. MISSION RAPIDS and WONDERFUL CROSS both lost 1 length. TAKING CHANCES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SNOW ROSE shifted outwards slightly approaching the 200 metre mark, resulting in INTERGALACTIC becoming cramped for galloping room, having to be eased for a number of strides as TAKING CHANCES shifted inwards slightly. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward, which was followed by an Objection lodged by a Stipendiary Steward on behalf of the fifth placed horse, INTERGALACTIC, against the third placed horse, SNOW ROSE, on the grounds of interference near the 200 metre mark. The Objection Board after hearing all the evidence was not satisfied that Jockey Daniels, the rider of SNOW ROSE, was the sole cause of this interference and therefore over-ruled the Objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. MISSION RAPIDS raced fitted with alumites both fore and steels behind. SHEZALEADER did not race fitted with cheek pieces.
