PETER PIPER was presented prior to the 1st Race with a companion for recertification after the starting stall certificate had been with withdrawn on the 6.5.2015. This gelding was passed tractable. GO SHORTY, BURMESE FALCON and SONGOFFIREANDICE were all slow into stride. SEA URCHIN lost 2 lengths. SWAKOPMUND was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SWAKOPMUND shifted in slightly approaching the 800 metre mark, resulting in TOONANI having to be steadied off the heels of SWAKOPMUND. Jockey Cormack, the rider of SWAKOPMUND, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and advised to take more care when shifting ground in races in future. GO SHORTY raced wide on the bend and into the straight. SEA URCHIN was switched out off the heels of TOONANI to obtain a clear run at approximately the 150 metre mark. BURMESE FALCON and SEA URCHIN both raced green. SILVER GREEN was not persevered with over the final 200 metres. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Sturgeon reported that LORD LUTON was making an abnormal respiratory noise. Vet: FAREWELL EMBLEM - Epistaxis, 90 day suspension. SILVER GREEN and LORD LUTON - nothing obvious detected.
