PHUKET pulled its left front shoe en route to the start which was attended to by the Course Farrier causing a delay to the start of this race. SEATTLE SPICE lost one length. Jockey Bester was charged with a contravention in that he rode the horse SEATTLE SPICE in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 250m. Jockey Bester signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a Warning was imposed. Jockey Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with PHUKET and did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Apprentice Murray reported that A WOMAN'S WILL did not stride out freely in running. SWIZZLE STICK was hanging in from the 200m. An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey Maujean's riding of the horse ANGEL OF MERCY in the concluding stages. FIRSTIMESACHARM and BLUEMOONRUSH were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FOUNTAIN OF NEWS raced equipped with alumites in front and steel shoes behind. BLUEMOONRUSH raced with a tongue tie on.
