HIGHLAND HEATHER (L Hewitson) was stubborn to load. HIGHLAND HEATHER (L Hewitson) and PALMHEART (W Kennedy) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Between the 450m and 300m, SAPPHIRE ROCK (A Marcus) and WICHITA (S Veale) came together and made contact on a number of occasions. Thereafter, at the 250m, SAPPHIRE ROCK (A Marcus) shifted out to continue its run. In the concluding stages, BELLS AND WHISTLES (S Randolph) and WICHITA (S Veale) came together and brushed. Jockey W Kennedy reported that PALMHEART (10.80 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
