PETTY OFFICER was restless in the stalls. SEVEN GRAND jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. PRINCESS SALME was restless in the stalls. In view of the performance from SEA SPRAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly and submit a report. Apprentice May reported that PETTY OFFICER changed stride continually in running. SUNSET TRIPP was hanging out in the straight. ALIYSA'S PRIZE (ARG) was hanging in, in the latter stages. SEVEN GRAND was held up for a clear run approaching the 300m. PRINCESS SALME was baulked for a clear run between the 400m and 250m and thereafter brushed SUNSET TRIPP at the 100m. Trainer Kotzen was questioned regarding the improved performance from GOLDANDSILVER today. Trainer Kotzen told the Stewards that the only explanation he could offer was that the filly had been worked upon by a chiropractor and that he had removed the blinkers for today's outing. The Board reviewed the filly's previous run on 22 July 2015 and was satisfied that she had been ridden and raced on merit. Trainer Kotzen was advised to race GOLDANDSILVER without blinkers in her future engagements and the Board will monitor her future performances. GOLDANDSILVER and FEAR NOT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: PETTY OFFICER - returned not striding out. SEA SPRAY - returned not striding out.
