APPLE DROP (S Brown) was restless in the stalls. Trainer S J Gray was advised to reschool this filly. ERNESTIKA (C Bantam) was slow losing one length. MADAM MAGNOLIA (M Thackeray) jumped awkwardly losing 1 length. Jockey D L Habib reported that FLASHLIGHT (1,50 lengths) changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Apprentice L J Ferraris reported that THE PINES made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. FROSTED ICE (*P Mxoli) hung in throughout in the running. MADAM MAGNOLIA (M Thackeray) jumped awkwardly making contact with the right hand side of the stalls. This resulted in the saddle slipping back badly, as a consequence of this MADAM MAGNOLIA pig-rooted. Jockey Thackeray was unable to assist this filly and eased her out the race. SHEER TALENT (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (DR).
