BATTLE HAMMER was slow into stride. SEEKING THE DREAM lost 1 length. SEEKING THE DREAM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Puller was questioned regarding the improved performance of SEEKING THE DREAM the winner compared to this gelding's previous few races. Mr Puller explained that this gelding's previous few races had been run against stronger opposition than today and that he had raced handy in those races and had weakened at the finish. Today the field was of a weaker calibre and he had instructed Apprentice Balloo to race this gelding from off the pace. This in his opinion had accounted for the improved performance. Mr Puller has undertaken to race this gelding in a similar manner in future. SEEKING THE DREAM flyjumped leaving the stalls. A tiring JAY BOY became cramped for galloping room passing the 150 metre mark. In view of the performance of PRINCE OF ARABIA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Yeni the rider of BARBARIAN had his crop accidentally struck from his hand by Jockey de Melo, rider of YOUR WORSHIP, at approximately the 150 metre mark. BATTLE HAMMER raced wide on the latter part of the bend in order to improve his position. Vet: JAY BOY - nothing obvious detected. PRINCE OF ARABIA - not striding out right fore.
