In view of the performance from PRINCE JAZEEM, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. EXELERO took an awkward stride at about the 550m on the inside running rail. BLACKMORE shifted in at about the 300m and tightened BLARNEY BAY, which brushed EXELERO. Thereafter at the 200m BLACKMORE shifted in slightly, which resulted in EXELERO being awkwardly placed on his heels, became unbalanced and losing momentum. A Member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review, and Jockey Byleveld, the rider of EXELERO, then lodged an Objection against BLACKMORE being declared the winner on the grounds of interference at the 200m. The Board, after reviewing the patrol films and considering the evidence heard, was of the opinion that but for the interference EXELERO would not have finished ahead of BLACKMORE and therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges' result to stand. Jockey Byleveld's deposit was refunded. The Board has adjourned to review the patrol films of the incidents at the 300m and 200m. BLACKMORE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: PRINCE JAZEEM - returned with old overreach marks on both forelegs.
