DESERT SWIRL, which was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and dropped his head down as the start was effected losing five lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Trainer Stewart will be advised to re-school this gelding before its next engagement. In view of the performance from SEIZE THE THRONE, which was not persevered with over the final 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. In view of the performance from CAN COPE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the mare and submit a report AREZZO and A TIME TO KILL were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SEIZE THE THRONE - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. CAN COPE - returned not striding out.
