Shortly before the start was effected WILLOW MAGIC (AUS) was restless in the starting stalls and knocked the front gate open, which was reset. Thereafter TORO ROSSO (ARG) became restless, was removed from the starting stall, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. This caused a delay to the start of this race. WILLOW MAGIC (AUS) broke open the front gate. TORO ROSSO (BRZ) was restless in the stalls. ALL THE BIDS and PRECURSOR lost 1 length. ROMAN CARNIVAL raced wide on the bend. In view of the performance from this gelding, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine ROMAN CARNIVAL. In view of the performance from MOOTAHADEE (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. DEPUTY JUD shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. DEPUTY JUD, UNCLE TOMMY and ULTIMATE DOLLAR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ALL THE BIDS and DEPUTY JUD - coughing. MOOTAHADEE (AUS) - not striding out right front. ROMAN CARNIVAL - not striding out left front. TAPTAP MAKHATINI and TORO ROSSO (BRZ) - abnormal respiratory noise.
