ROMAN DISCENT, which was restless in the stalls, was slow losing one length. MY MAN ALEX, which was restless in the stalls, was slow into stride. ROMAN DISCENT was held up for a clear run shortly before the finish. In view of the performance from MY MAN ALEX, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. Apprentice van der Hoven was charged with a contravention, read with Appendix E on the Guidelines of the use of the crop, in that he used his crop in front of the saddle on LAST VICEROY. Apprentice van der Hoven signed an Admission of Guilt for the penalty of a Warning. ICE STYLE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MY MAN ALEX - returned striding short. Scratched: LANE FROST - not eating up, suspected virus. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
