GILL'S FANCY and LOBELIA were both slow into stride. TREBLE TOT, SILVER GODDESS and MISS STINGRAY all lost 1 length. DIZZY FEET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LOBELIA was pulling hard in the early stages, difficult to restrain and compounded in the latter stages. NOT A WORD shifted in at approximately the 1100 metre mark, resulting in PRIVATE DANCER, who was over-racing, having to ease. This resulted in LOBELIA becoming severely cramped, unbalanced and being forced inwards. This resulted in MISS STINGRAY becoming cramped and having to ease for a number of strides. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. Jockey de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that, as the rider of THRONE, he could not weigh out within 0.5kg of the carded weight which necessitated in a late change of rider (1.1kg). LOBELIA did not race with her tongue tied down. Vet: LOBELIA - laceration to right fore fetlock. Scratched: WANING CRESCENT - elevated temperature. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed. Several Jockeys were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
