THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. As the start was effected BIG BLUE MARBLE (C Habib) became restless, sat down on the back gate resulting in BIG BLUE MARBLE losing three lengths. SILVER MASTER (C Maujean) was slow losing one length. BIG BLUE MARBLE (M van Rensburg) jumped awkwardly from the stalls and was slow away. A race review was called in to the start of this Race, where it was established that BIG BLUE MARBLE became restless and deposited his weight on his hind quarters and therefore was in a squat position as the start was effected. As a consequence of this, BIG BLUE MARBLE lost significant ground to the field. The Board deemed this incident to be a result of BIG BLUE MARBLE's behaviour in the stalls and deemed him to be a runner. Jockey J Greyling reported that he felt something amiss with SINGFONICO in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Shortly after the start of the race, Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with LIFE IS GOOD and eased this gelding out at the 900m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. SILVER MASTER (C Maujean) hung in from the 300m. ISPHAN (*C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, advised (AH). BIG BLUE MARBLE was ridden by Jockey C Habib. HOW DOES IT TASTE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 13 July at 18H41). VET : LIFE IS GOOD lame left front. SINGFONICO not striding out right front. SCRATCHED: MASTER BOULDER insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
