BLAST was stubborn loading and slow into stride. ONE COOL CAT stumbled shortly after the start and Jockey Pretorius briefly lost his right hand side stirrup iron. Jockey van Rensburg, the rider of IRON DRAGON, and Jockey Yeni, the rider of SUSSUDIO, reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. Jockey Khumalo, the rider of HEAVENLY EXPRESS, and Jockey Herholdt, the rider of CARRY ON CAPTAIN, reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running and did not persevere with their ride in the concluding stages. Apprentice Thackeray reported that CANNES did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Greyling reported that REBEL ASSAULT did not stride out freely in running and did not persevere with his ride. Trainer Miller was requested to report back on the condition of REBEL ASSAULT on return to the stables. BLAST was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ONE COOL CAT - not striding out both front. SUSSUDIO - abnormal respiratory noise; not striding out right front. HEAVENLY EXPRESS and CANNES - not striding out right front. CARRY ON CAPTAIN - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: THE QUEEN - swollen left front joint. SILVER STATE - coughing.
