The start was delayed due to Jockey S Randolph being dislodged and injured en-route to the start. A replacement rider was weighed out and thereafter proceeded to the start. Fair start for all runners. Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse EL BALLERO more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Moodley, the Board considered the number of times (18) Jockey Moodley struck the horse EL BALLERO, the distance over which and manner in which Jockey S Moodley used his crop and his record (5) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. FIRST KNIGHT (N Patel) raced wide throughout. TRACK ATTACK (K de Melo) and SONJADOR (L Hewitson) came together and made contact on two occasions from the 200m. Jockey S Randolph reported that he was dislodged by EL BALLERO en-route to the start due to EL BALLERO becoming fractious after reacting to the sound of the generator. In light of this report, the Board allowed Jockey Randolph to be replaced by Jockey S Moodley. EL BALLERO (S Moodley) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G Anthony advised (SC). Jockey T Godden was the rider of PONZI (reserve runner - advised 08h11/15.07.2020). Jockey R Fourie was the rider of GARLIN (reserve runner - advised 07h13/15.07.2020). Jockey S Moodley replaced Jockey S Randolph on EL BALLERO. TIGER TANK raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind (advised 15h05/09.07.2020). ALFREDO raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind (advised 15h05/09.07.2020).
