The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. SWAGER JAGGER (*T Gumede), RED EIGHT (S Veale) and AURORA AUSTRALIS (J Samuel) lost 1 length, respectively. Apprentice J Mphanya reported that he felt something amiss with SPRING LIGHTNING (7.15 lengths) in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. UNCLE CHARLIE (*J Jacobs) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. TARZAN (S Moodley) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Forbes advised (ML).
