ENIGMA CODE (R Simons), LEAR JET (*N Klink), MAPLE STREET (J Greyling) and SUPREME ELEVATION (*L J Ferraris) were slow into stride. ANCIENT ROME (P Strydom) jumped inwards and FSQUADRON (C Maujean) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. OUR PLANET (*T Juglall) was slow losing one length. Shortly after the start, ENIGMA CODE (R Simons), MAPLE STREET (J Greyling), MAXIUMUS (D L Habib) and SUPREME ELEVATION (*L J Ferraris) were squeezed when awkwardly placed between ANCIENT ROME (P Strydom) which jumped in and FSQUADRON (C Maujean) which jumped out. In view of the performance of ANCIENT ROME (P Strydom) (distance 11,75 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. MAXIUMUS (D L Habib) hung out from the 300m MAXIUMUS (D L Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T van Rensburg advised (AH). Jockey Habib signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse MAXIUMUS more than twelve times in the entire race. The Board imposed a penalty of a fine of R2000. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (15), his poor recent record with regard to this Rule and the fact that he won the race. THE TIME IS NOW was ridden by Jockey R Danielson (declared 16 July 2020 at 08H01). SUPREME ELEVATION raced equipped with blinkers (declared 15 July 2020 at 15H36).
