Permission was granted for ELEGANT GENT to proceed to the start with a lead horse. ALL ABOUT THE DASH pulled hard in the early stages. NO RESISTANCE raced wide on the turn and into the home straight. Jockey Khumalo reported that MAMBO ITALIANO raced with his tongue over the bit. Jockey van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with EXCLUDED in the running. Jockey Fortune reported that AGE OF AQUARIUS made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. Jockey Byleveld reported that he felt something amiss with MOUNT FUJI in the closing stages. APOC was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer McLachlan was questioned regarding the improved performance of APOC compared to his previous start on the 25th September 2015. He explained that he had rested APOC after an injury for 5 months before his previous start and felt that he may not have been racing fit, but today he has returned to form. The Board noted this explanation. SOPHISTRY raced with a tongue tie. Vet: D'VASH - abnormal respiratory noise, short in front. EXCLUDED - abnormal respiratory noise, short right fore, treated.
