The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous Race delays. NIGHT FROST was slow into stride. GAVEA GIRL lost one length. GAVEA GIRL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gordon was questioned with regard to the improved performance of GAVEA GIRL compared to this filly's previous performance on the 27 September 2015 at Scottsville Racecourse over 1200 metres. Trainer Gordon explained that in his opinion GAVEA GIRL is better suited to the longer distance of tonight's race. Trainer Gordon undertook to race this filly over similar distances in the future. The Board noted his explanation. ALOXXI was pulling hard in the early stages, difficult to restrain. LOVE OF LUXURIES raced wide on the bend. GAVEA GIRL was hanging in, in the straight. WILD IMAGE was hanging in over the final 400 metres, shifted in near the 100 metre mark resulting in a tiring ZAGORA having to be eased off the heels of WILD IMAGE. Apprentice Ngwane signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that, as the rider of WILD IMAGE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ZAGORA at approximately the 100 metre mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. LOVE OF LUXURIES raced with a Cornell collar. Scratched: FORT AFREET - coughing.
