RAISE THE RED was slow into stride. TABREEK (AUS) lost 1 length. TABREEK (AUS) took an awkward stride approaching the 1400m. TABREEK (AUS) commenced to hang out leaving the 200m and had to be straightened. Thereafter TABREEK (AUS) was carried in marginally by CUMBERLAND, which was hanging in from the 300m. Thereafter these two horses raced in close proximity until the finish line. Jockey Delpech, the rider of TABREEK (AUS), placed second, called a race review into this incident, which was followed by him lodging an objection against CUMBERLAND being declared the winner, on the grounds of intimidation in the concluding stages. The Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the connections of both horses and reviewing the patrol films of the race, was of the opinion that TABREEK (AUS) would not have finished in front of CUMBERLAND and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges' result to stand. Jockey Delpech's deposit was refunded. CUMBERLAND was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. TABREEK (AUS) raced equipped with alumite shoes in front, steel behind.
