BORN TO RULE kicked the gates, was removed from the stalls, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. BIG BIRD and FANTASY ART (AUS) were both slow into stride. LADY COUGAR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Miller was questioned regarding the improved performance of LADY COUGAR the winner. Mr Miller advised the Board that this mare had raced to the front too freely fitted with blinkers in her previous start. Today he had removed the blinkers and advised Apprentice van der Hoven to race handy but with restraint in the early stages. Mr Miller's explanation was noted and he has been advised to race this mare similarly in future. In view of the performance of WHAT AN ANSWER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: WHAT AN ANSWER - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: LONDON OLYMPICS - insufficient recovery time.
