The start of this race was delayed due to the pre-race jockey introductions running over time. SECOND BITE was slow into stride. Jockey Pedroza was charged with a contravention in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse SCANDAL, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Jockey Pedroza signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. INYANGA had to take evasive action approaching the 150m and switch inwards when brushed by VIRTUALITY when both of these horses were tightened for galloping room between the heels of TRIPADVISOR, which shifted outwards away from the crop and SCANDAL, which shifted in sharply away from the crop and was immediately straightened. The Stewards after reviewing this incident, were of the opinion that this was a racing incident and took no further action apart from advising Jockey Cosgrave and Jockey Pedroza to ensure that they keep their mounts on a straight course in future. Jockey Lerena reported that STAY AMAZED did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Marcus reported that SUPA-U choked up in running. CLOSE RELATIVE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: STAY AMAZED - not striding out right front. SUPA-U - coughing. VIRTUALITY - fatigued.
