The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in Race 4. CASEY NOVAK was slow losing five lengths. Jockey van Rensburg reported that MYSTERY LEADER took no interest in running. Jockey Pretorius reported that AARON'S ELEMENT changed stride continually in running. Jockey Penny, the rider of SADHU, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and advised to ride his mounts with sufficient vigour in future.
