COME FLY WITH ME pulled hard in the early stages and raced without cover. SEA CAT shifted in, in the concluding stages, brushed COME FLY WITH ME onto SENSIBLE LOVER (AUS), which was forced to ease. This resulted in COME FLY WITH ME becoming severely cramped for galloping room and had to check severely. A Member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review and after reviewing the patrol films was of the opinion that the reported interference had not affected the result and took no further action. Jockey Khathi was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of SEA CAT, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners when shifting in, in the closing stages. In coming to an appropriate penalty the Board had regard to his clear riding record for interference and therefore Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and he was suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days.
